Features
Flexible Design
The good thing about the HyperX Cloud II is that it feels comfortable. It features aluminum with flexible ear cups and a headband with soft leatherette & memory foam cushions to ensure comfort. These headphones come with black metal on either side and feature hard & matte-textured plastic.
In simple terms, this gaming headset is super comfortable and sturdy. Its band provides just enough tension to hold the device, but not too tight. Yet, the headset is light since it features aluminum. Thus, it can be an excellent option for other functions like Zoom calls and not gaming alone.
Nonetheless, it might not be the best option for people using glasses, although the softness around its ear pads creates a decent seal. In general, this headset is suitable for gaming as it comes with a minimal onboard controls suite. The mic mute & power buttons are on the left edge and a volume dial on the right headphone’s edge.
In any case, the headset will allow you to install HyperX’s Ngenuity app to turn on the virtual sound, power save functions, and adjust mic volume. The best part is that the gaming accessory app is standard and works well.
Connection Options
The HyperX Cloud II will allow you to connect to wireless devices quickly. In other words, it enables minimal hardware interference and works much like a plug-and-play device. It will allow you to connect to your preferred platform using the wireless RF dongle 2.4GHz USB.
The downside is that the headset does not provide a 3.5mm connection option. For that reason, it is suitable for Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4 only.
Battery Life
Battery life for most gaming headsets has improved over the past two years. A couple of years ago, the best battery for gaming headsets lasted about 16 hours of playback. Right now, gaming headsets can last up to more than 24 hours.
Lucky for you, the HyperX Cloud II can last up to 30 hours of playback time. The headset can work for around 32 hours and three minutes on a consistent ~75dB volume. Above all, the gaming headset charges using a USB-C to ensure a full charge in one to two hours.
User Experience
This gaming headphone provides an excellent and straightforward gaming experience. The HyperX Cloud II feels comfortable to put on for long hours. Moreover, you can use several alternative batteries to ensure consistency. I can conclude that playing games using the headset is fantastic.
The headset can handle all your sound requirements by providing a stereo sound experience for gaming. In simple terms, the headset provides quality results like Dauntless and Hade on PC while using a Discord call at the same time.
Although it does not provide separate chat and game channels like other gaming headsets, it is easy to attain everything using a HyperX Cloud II. It would be best to mention that options like virtual surround sound are not available, although it handles games well.
You will encounter almost no issues using Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. However, since Microsoft does not provide a 3.5mm option, it is incompatible with Xbox One. On the other hand, you will have no issues using it on PlayStation 5 since it comes with a console built-in 3D audio that works well.
Noise Filtering & Sound Audacity
This gaming headset provides distinctive isolation compared to other similar headsets. In simple terms, it comes with excellent attenuation.
For that reason, you will enjoy your gaming periods without any disturbance from regular home chores. It will also allow you to monitor your doorbell depending on your set volume level.
The HyperX Cloud II accurately outputs up to 4000 Hz audio, making it a perfect option for gaming purposes. Besides, its Highs, Mid, and Lows are not worrying and are ideal for mimicking response. In any case, it can be a suitable option for all music genres. It comes with a neutral-leaning frequency that can perform better in genres such as EDM.
Microphone Quality
The gaming headset comes with one of the best microphones. It has a typical base output and works well for combating proximity effects. Although the headset mic may not work like most other options, it offers quality audio to boost your overall experience. Above all, the HyperX Cloud II has recorded thousands of positive feedbacks from recent users.
What I Like
I enjoyed using several features of a HyperX Cloud II. Some pros include its classic design, clear microphone, and wireless connection. Here are the most beneficial features:
Comfort
The headphone comes with a flexible design and features to help you attain better results. It comes with a make that fits well on the head to use the device longer. Besides, I can use its adjustable knob to suit all head sizes.
Battery Life
Unlike most other gaming headsets that feature batteries that last less than 24 hours, the HyperX Cloud II can last longer. It can last up to 30 hours if the gamer uses it cautiously. It provides the power save button to ensure that it can serve you longer.
Sound Audacity
The most amazing feature about this headphone is the cleaning of its sounds. It can be an excellent option for improving sound audacity and connection functions. Besides, you can adjust the sound to suit your requirements.
What I Don’t Like
Like any other product available on the market, this headphone comes with drawbacks. Here are the two challenges I think are the worst about the gadget. They include:
Unsuitable For Glasses
One of the major drawbacks of the gadget is that it isolates some groups of gaming lovers. Generally, it may not suit gamers who wear spectacles since they won’t fit well.
Unsuitable for Xbox One
The headset does not work for people using Xbox One. Thus, it isolates many users who do not use Playstation.
