Yoimiya is a Pyro bow user who excels in dealing damage from distance to single target enemies. She is fairly easy to play and quite deadly to big bosses such as X. For those who struggle with enemies that dash a lot, she makes it easier to hit those enemies without the need of running around to hit them.
While her kit is fairly simplistic, Yoimiya can only shine through her teammates, as she heavily depends on reactions to maximize her damage. This is why it is important to build her correctly and place her in the proper team comp. Here you can learn how to optimize her build to reach her peak performance!
Skills
Normal Attack: Firework Flare-Up
Yoimiya fires up to 5 shots. Charging the attack aims the shot that increases the damage. There are two types of charges. The first charge deals Pyro damage, while the second charge creates Kindling Arrows while charging, up to three Kindling arrows. Once shot, the Kindling Arrows will follow the hit enemy and deal additional Pyro damage.
Elemental Skill: Niwabi Fire-Dance
Yoimiya applies Niwabi Enshou state on herself, which increases her normal attack and infuses them with Pyro. Note that this effect can be overwritten, and charged attacks cannot be charged to level 2.
This skill is the bread and butter of Yoimiya’s kit. Her entire damage revolves around it. It lasts for 10 seconds, so the best use is to fully buff her before activating it, and for the next 10 seconds it’s full normal attacks. Its cooldown is 18 seconds, leaving you with 8 seconds of downtime. As it is her main source of damage, it takes the highest priority in leveling up.
Elemental Burst: Ryuukin Saxifrage
Yoimiya uses to fire a missile attack that deals AOE Pyro damage in a small circle around her. Her Burst applies Aurous Blaze on one enemy, which explodes and deals AOE Pyro damage whenever another ally damages that enemy with a normal, charged or plunging attack (2-second cooldown).
Aurous Blaze duration is 10 seconds. If the tagged enemy dies, they will pass it to another enemy with the remaining time from the 10 seconds. While its damage is good, it does not compare to her Elemental Skill, and can be useful in filling the 8 second downtime of her Elemental Skill.
Passive: Tricks of the Trouble-Maker
While Niwabi Enshou is active, Yoimiya’s normal attack hits increase her Pyro damage bonus by 2% for 3 seconds. This passive can stack up to 10 stacks and gaining a stack resets the timer.
2nd Passive: Summer Night’s Dawn
Using Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst increases her Allies’ attack by 10% and an additional 1% for each stack from her Tricks of the Trouble-Maker passive, for a total of 20%.
Weapons
Thundering Pulse
Currently, the best weapon on Ganyu is Amos’ bow due to its high stats and its skill. Other than its basic stats, Amos’ bow gives 12-24% attack to normal and charged attacks along with 8-16% attack for every 0.1 seconds traveled up to 0.5 seconds.
Ganyu’s elemental skill enables her to put some distance between her and her enemies, which enables the arrows to travel longer and take advantage of Amos’ bow skill. Moreover, this weapon is available in standard wishes, so you might be lucky enough and pull it at some point.
Polar Star
Since Ganyu gains crit damage the more she ascends, Skyward Harp works perfectly as it gives her both crit chance and crit damage. With good artifacts, she can crit almost every charged attack, allowing her to deal consistent massive damage.
Rust
The F2P option, Prototype Crescent is a craftable 4* bow that increases Ganyu’s attack from its secondary effect and by hitting enemies’ weak points. Since it is a craftable weapon, it is relatively easy to refine it to R5, which increases its skill bonus attack from 36% to 72%.
Artifacts
When it comes to artifacts, there are only two sets that work efficiently on Yoimiya. The first set is Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, which increases her attack by 18% and her normal, charged and plunging attacks by 50% for 10 seconds upon using her Elemental Skill. As her Elemental Skill’s duration is 10 seconds, this bonus is fully utilized. One thing to note is that it requires 15 energy or more to be consumed to activate this bonus.
The other option is Crimson Witch of Flames set, which increases Pyro damage by 15% and reaction damage by 40%, with the exception of Melt and Vaporize being 15% instead. Both sets are strong and can deal significant damage, so substats play a major role in the comparison. However, Shimenawa’s Reminiscence provides more damage and its domain is the most resin efficient domain in the game.
As for substats, Yoimiya requires the same stats as every other reaction DPS. Attack, crit rate and crit damage are extremely important. Elemental mastery is useful for the overall damage, while energy recharge is unnecessary.

Team Comps
Yoimiya heavily relies on her teammates to truly shine, especially the second element applier. She requires a Hydro or Cryo applier to deal reactions. Currently, Hydro is the easier option as Yelan and Xingqiu can easily keep up with Yoimiya’s Pyro applications.
The third and fourth spot goes to a shielder/healer and a flex spot. Yoimiya benefits from shielders more as they reduce her chance of being interrupted. The fourth spot can be anyone who increase attack, attack speed or overall damage.
Yelan/Xingqiu
Yelan and Xingqiu are the perfect teammates to Yoimiya, as they make every normal attack empowered by her Elemental Skill Vaporize, which significantly improves her damage output. Yelan offers more damage, while Xingqiu offers reduced damage. If her team comp offers a shielder, Yelan is the better option.
Kimisato Ayato
Ayato and Yoimiya team is fairly a tag team one, where they fill the downtime of each other’s Elemental Skill. Ayato can apply Hydro off-field and his Burst increases Yoimiya’s attack speed. While her Elemental Skill is on cooldown, Ayato can swap in to deal damage using his Elemental Skill and Yoimiya’s Aurous Blaze, and the cycle repeats.
Kazuha/Venti/Sucrose

Swirl users are perfect in any reaction teams. Their crowd control ability, along with swirling Hydro or Cryo can help Yoimiya react easily and improve her overall damage. Not only that, but using VV set can also reduce enemies’ resistance, which further enhances her damage.

Zhongli
While Yoimiya is a ranged character, any time wasted dodging is time not utilized using normal attacks. Zhongli offers the strongest shield in the game, practically making Yoimiya invincible. Not only that, but he also petrifies his enemies through her Burst offering crowd control, and shreds their resistance through his Elemental Skill.
Bennett
Bennett offers healing, attack buff and energy particles for Yoimiya, making him both an offensive and defensive support. Moreover, as a second Pyro user, they activate Pyro resonance, which increases attack by X. This makes him a well rounded support, especially to Yoimiya.
Yunjin
Yun Jin offers normal attack damage bonus, which is what Yoimiya’s entire kit revolves around. Moreover, her sixth constellation gives Yoimiya attack speed, which improves Yoimiya’s overall DPS. Finally, as Yoimiya requires Hydro or Cryo, this will provide 3 unique elements with Yun Jin, which utilizes her passive more efficiently.
Constellation
Agate Ryuukin | Aurous Blaze’s duration is increased by 4 seconds, and Yoimiya gains 20% attack bonus for 20 seconds if the marked enemy is defeated |
A Procession of Bonfires | Yoimiya gains 25% Pyro damage bonus if one of her Pyro attacks crit |
Trickster’s Flare | Increases the level of the Elemental Skill by 3 and the maximum level to 15 |
Pyrotechnic Professional | If Aurous Blaze is triggered, Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill cooldown is decreased by 1.2 seconds |
A Summer Festival’s Eve | Increases the level of the Elemental Burst by 3 and the maximum level to 15 |
Naganohara Meteor Swarm | While Niwabi Enshou state is still active, Yoimiya’s normal attacks have 50% chance of shooting an additional normal attack that deals 60% of her normal attack’s damage |
When it comes to constellations, Yoimiya does perfectly well without them at C0. Her constellations are more damage boosters and only worth it if further damage is desired. Of her constellations, her second and fourth constellations are the best, as the Pyro damage bonus is very useful.
Meanwhile the fourth constellation is extremely beneficial, as it cuts down her downtime by at least half if utilized properly. Her first constellation is limited to her dual DPS team such as Ayato-Yoimiya, and her sixth constellation does not offer enough damage for the investment.
Yoimiya struggles with banner placement, as she was placed around Kazuha, Raiden and Nahida, who are the best units in the game. This is why she is typically overlooked. However, that treatment is undeserved as she can deal similar damage to Hu tao while being easier to build.
Her playstyle is fairly simplistic and easy to play. She provides the benefit of ease of play as she does not need to aim or focus on enemies. However, she is limited to bosses and single enemies as her AOE is not that great. This makes her more situational but overall great to have.
